Gap Travel USA

Most people have definite opinions about the USA, you either love it or hate it, and gap travellers are no different.  But no matter what your opinion is, there is no doubt that The United States of America is a brilliant gap travel  destination.

If you are a current student you can qualify for a summer working visa, which will enable you to work for the summer months on your gap year. There are several organisations in the UK which can help you organise this gap year work.

Most gappers fly to New York and spend a few days exploring The Big Apple, then, as it is expensive in New York, they will head out across the country. A road trip across America on your gap trip is brilliant fun, and educational too, as you will see so many places you have heard about in movies  and books.

A good option for a gap travel itinerary is from New York to Los Angeles via New Orleans on the Southern Route. Trek America have small group adventures that gap year travellers can join, and they are reasonably priced.

Once in the western states of the USA there are hundreds of great things to see and do on your gap travels. Most gappers try to include The Grand Canyon, Yosemite National Park, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Francisco, but there loads of other great places to visit. You will need several months to fully explore the USA on your gap year trip, but if you are on your way around the world, don’t worry, you can always revisit the USA on a holiday, or on another gap travel journey.
